Croatia is one of the most diverse wine regions on the planet. We have more than 150 indigenous grape sorts, and Kaštela region near Split has more than 11 sorts. According to the old Church documents, family Kuzmanić started producing wines 300 years ago, especially ancient Dalmatian sorts Glavinuša, Babica (Zinfandel’s genetic cousins not available elsewhere), & Tribljan. Their cellar, located on the slopes of mountain Kozjak, is a 120 years old stone house offering fantastic views of Split and the nearby islands.
We will have time to try all their award-winning sorts accompanied by traditional Dalmatian prosciutto and cheese, meet and chat with the wine producer and his family, and take a stroll to the nearby Biblical Garden where you will learn about Zinfandel’s Croatian origin.
The tour is timed perfectly at sunset, so you can enjoy the spectacular views from the Kuzmanić vinery balcony.
This tour is also available as private tour with dinner. Please contact us for more information and prices.

Till this day, I did not realized that Zinfandel grape has origin at this exact place, wow! Loved the tour, cellar and guide.
Damir provided an excellent tour. We visited a local family run vineyard / winery and sampled delicious wines, foods and other delicacies all prepared by the owner. We were able to taste all of his best wines, and even purchased some to bring home.
It was a special treat
Each wine maker set up a tasting with great food pairing. It was a special treat to do something so personal and have a blast with each wine maker and even meet their families.
