Every day – rain or shine! This is the tour you should take first coming to Split. Put on your Roman shoes, and look through Diocletian’s sunglasses!
Knowledgeable guides will bring the past alive and share the facts and inside stories with you on this best-rated tour in town. The Split Walking Tour includes the Roman part of town (Diocletian’s palace) and Medieval part of the town (City hall, Riva Promenade, Fishmarket, and so on).
The ruins of the Palace can be found throughout the city. The cathedral locally known as St. Duje church, was built in the Middle Ages, reusing materials from the ancient mausoleum. Twelfth- and 13th-century Romanesque churches, medieval fortifications, 15th-century Gothic palaces, and other palaces in Renaissance and Baroque style make up the rest of the protected area.

Fascinating History Tour
Our guide, Ina, was marvelous- she was knowledgeable, fun and the tour was a highlight of our stay in Split. As an archaeologist she provided unique insight to the history of Split, Croatia, and of course, Diocletian’s Palace.
Her explanations in English were clear and articulate. She clearly has a good historical knowledge base but above all was able to give human meaning to the buildings objects and events she described
